Family Life Running — 30 August 2012

I think I might regret this (why do I keep putting myself on blast?), but … I’ve been looking at old photos to use for my father’s 70th birthday celebration this weekend and came across my first race photo ever. Since it’s “Throwback Thursday,” I figured I’d go ahead and post it.

Thirty years ago on May 31, 1982; my father, Nicole, and I ran in the Bolder Boulder 10K Classic in Colorado. It was my first race and I think it was my last until recent years. Gasp!

Don’t you just love the headband and the fashionable sweat socks?

I look like I was about to die and that’s the one thing I remember about that race – I thought I was about to die. I would have never guessed back then that I would end up running marathons.

How about you? Do you have your first race photo ever?

  1. I LOVE this! The only running you could get me to do at that age was a big NONE! Kudos to your family for keeping healthy over the years.

  2. This is so neat! I just started running a couple of years ago so I don’t think I have changed much! What a nice memory!
