“Mommy, I want to do another race.”

Music. To. My. Ears.

Before my 7-year-old daughter, Milan, made it out of the room I was on the computer signing her up for the AJC Peachtree Jr. road race.

This past Saturday, she and approximately 2,000 other little mini-me’s ran a 3K through Piedmont Park in Atlanta. The race was well organized, well staffed, had great volunteers, a well stocked water stop and the kids seemed to really enjoy it – I know mine did. Take a look.

She’s got her number and is all smiles!

What a thorough little runner, studying the race route.

Giving her a pep-talk before she ran.

Hanging with Daddy.

Getting a great spot at the start.

Making friends. Her new running buddy, they paced each other throughout the race.

Sprinting to the finish.

Afterwards she showed me where I should go if I were to get lost.

And, of course she was thrilled to get the coveted Peachtree Jr. T-Shirt.

Being the patient mother that I am, I waited until we pulled out of the parking lot on our way home to ask her if she’s ready for the next race; then I waited until I got home to start searching for the perfect one.

Winks & Smiles,
