Fitness Running — 06 August 2012

Saturday my sister, Nicole, and I ran the Atlanta Track Club’s Atlanta’s Finest 5K. This was my third time running this race – I did it once with Husband and once solo. I was excited to run it this year because my sister was joining me and because I set a goal to match or beat my previous time.

Score!

My best 5K time was this same race 2 years ago, 33:11. My official time for this one is 32:39.

I’m back in training mode getting ready for several half marathons and deciding on marathon #3; and one of my goals is to increase my pace. This race was a great confidence booster for me. I can do more than I think I can and I’m just getting started.

Another bib for the books!

Me and Nicole ready to run – and some new recruits, too.

Still loving my Mizunos. I just LOOK at my feet and want to go faster.

The course was mostly flat but boasted some big hills. Atlanta’s Finest were on hand the entire route.

I caught Nicole running to the finish line. So proud of her – she was cruising, too!

Our post race pic!

It’s always nice to see friends at races especially when you hear them cheering you on at finish. Me and the lovely Laura Scholz. Laura’s such a ROCKSTAR, she placed 2nd in her age group!

Lola (my Garmin) and I were moving today. I was so happy to see her smiling these numbers at me.

I came in 22nd in my age group out of 65. Fun!

Cute for a unisex shirt. I’m happy to add it to my collection and looking forward to the next one.
