Food Running Weight loss — 28 May 2011

Um, yeah. Not only is that what Lola (my Garmin) told me when I turned her on this morning, but my body said the same thing. Fortunately, my long Saturday run was a short one. I ran 4 miles in 45:30, according to someone else’s Garmin. When I got Lola I vowed to keep her charged if she would keep me on pace – looks like she took me literally.

It felt good to start the holiday weekend off with a run – especially since I’ll be “running” around all weekend. We’re celebrating my son, Miles’, 10th birthday this weekend so right now I have a living room full of 10 year old’s playing video games. We’re off to Cosmic Bowling in a little while then something tells me we’ll find a pool or something else to get into.

I’ve decided that I’ll allow myself to indulge a little with some of my food choices this weekend, then formulate a strong plan on Tuesday to get me moving toward that six pack. “A little” are the key words here. It’s so easy to undo a week’s worth of work on the weekend. Gasp! Reminding myself of that helps to keep me in check.  What do you do to stay focused during holiday weekends? Me and my waistline want to know …

Winks & Smiles,

  1. I have the same plan, I figure best choices as possible & use the philosophy of “you know what that taste like” when or I should say if I start to indulge more than I should. I Aldo use the loseit app on the iPhone where journal my food do that helps. I will writs down everything!!

    • Love that. I need to check out that app and/or write stuff down! ;)

  2. Sadly, I have no advice for you. Hubby decided to fire up the grill today and I went a little loopy. The smell of charcoal and the sight of hubby sweating over that grill cause me to lose my mind and I think I ate a million hot dogs followed by a gazillion hamburgers. So I sit here on my couch praying that the pepto bismol genie will come and give me some relief.

  3. I decide which means are non-negotiable, and which meals I’ll indulge on. I’m trying to maintain a few pound loss and will resume on Tuesday with losing some more. Usually for me, breakfasts are at home and non-negotiable–I eat my nutritious filling foods (oatmeal, eggs etc) and don’t use it as an excuse to eat donuts etc. If I know I’ll have a meal or two out or grilling–the other meals that day have to be on track. Tomorrow lunch is out–so I’ll stick to my normal foods for breakfast and dinner. Hopefully I stick to this plan!!

  4. Nice job on the run!! I hope those batteries are fully charged for next time. :)

    Enjoy yourself this weekend!
