Food Running — 28 June 2011

Today started out quickly for me – especially my run. After dropping the kids off for the morning at their Summer Academy I stopped at the track to get in 4 miles.

Lola (my Garmin) said I was speedy this morning. It’s all relative, folks. That’s a nice pace for me.

The kids are only there until noon so of course those few hours flew by – I can’t even recount what happened to the rest of my morning, but I can tell you I came back home and treated myself to a sandwich.

Um, no lunch-meat is NOT clean, but I did use Boar’s Head so I don’t feel too bad. Blazing Buffalo Chicken and Turkey Pastrami on rye with spicy mustard and spinach. A nice treat. I rarely do sandwiches like this anymore.

For dessert frozen blueberries! I LOVE frozen berries in the summertime. I pop them in the microwave for about 40 seconds and they’re still slightly frozen and so refreshing in the heat.

I knocked out some writing and returned some emails then had a little fun with my running shoes since I’ve decided to keep them. I got the new New Balance 890′s at Fitbloggin last month and have been running in them ever since. I love how light they are and they fit my big ass large feet well.

Every shoe deserves a little bling. I bought this 26.2 charm at Disney’s Princess Half Marathon earlier this year; and I’m all about the bright colors for the summer. Fun!

Today’s workout: Running. 4 FAST miles. Ahem.

  2. Yay for big ass feet :) What size do you wear?? I recently bought 11.5s. I didn’t even know they made them that big! *sigh*

  5. Hey just discovered your blog today….still poking around. Lovin it so far. I started running towards the last quarter of 2010. I started off not even able to run half of a quarter mile to running 5 miles straight, 3 times a week. running was new to me but I figured if I could do it when I was TWO there’s no reason I shouldn’t be able to do it now :-) Running along with changing my habits resulted in me losing 40–I’ve never felt better! Thanks for the link to Blackgirlsrun.com. So happy to find running blogs by us!

    • Thanks for your kind words, Tonya! And, congrats on the running and 40 pounds! Truly inspiring! ;)
