Family Fitness Running Weight loss — 04 September 2012

My plan was to run three miles this morning, but as many of us know – with kids no plans are ever certain. My son, Miles, went to bed last night with a headache and woke up this morning still in pain. He’s feeling better now. Ibuprofen helped and a trip to the doctor cleared him of anything serious – thank goodness. While we were at the doctor we both got our flu shots. No time to be sick!

Even though today’s plans got flipped, I’m excited for this week to really get focused and consistent with my food and workouts as I move toward conquering my new goals. I had a GREAT holiday weekend. Maybe too great. Gasp! We celebrated my Dad’s 70th birthday with a family soirée on Sunday and I allowed myself to splurge a bit. I knew it would be one of those days and planned for it. I promise myself to #DoBetter, but I also believe in moderation. For me, that’s the only way to make this a permanent part of my lifestyle.

Happy Birthday, Dad! You can see more pics from our party at Ask Wifey.

In addition to running I was planning on strength training at Atlanta Fitness Diva today (couldn’t happen) and Thursday. I can’t wait to get back in there even though I KNOW it’s going to be hard. I welcome the challenge cause I know that’s the only way change is going to come.

I’m going to try to get out for a run later today and at least get some ab work in. Make sure to do something special today to take care of you, too.

Winks & Smiles,

  1. No way your Daddy is 70. No waaay. I don’t believe it. He looks late 50′s, early 60′s.

I remember this terrible headache my son had on his first day of 8th grade (a few years back). It was so bad, he had to miss school and get an MRI. Everything checked out good, and I was able to confirm that the teenage boy species does indeed possess a brain. LOL!

    • LOL! Glad to hear he was OK and has a brain, too. Tee hee hee. And, yes my Daddy is really 70. Hopefully his youthfulness runs in the genes. ;)
