Food Weight loss — 12 October 2012

One of my goals is to start trying new recipes and foods I might not normally eat. I had tacos on the menu for last night’s dinner and decide to whip up some homemade guacamole to go with them. Husband LOVES avocados so I figured I’d score big bonus points with this one. I’ve never been a guacamole fan but I know avocados are good for you – their a healthy fat so no over indulging.

I hopped on Pinterest and found an EASY recipe from The Girl Who Ate Everything. I changed it just a little. You can click the link to see her original recipe and I’ll put my changes below.

Ingredients:
3 avocados
1/4 cup onion, diced finely
2 roma tomatoes, chopped
1/2 cup cilantro, chopped finely
1 lime, juiced
3 chopped fresh garlic cloves
Sea salt and pepper to taste
(optional) a pinch of chopped jalapeño

I cut and pitted the avocados, then scooped out the goods and chopped them up. In a bowl I mashed them a little more then mixed in the other ingredients. Yes. It was that easy. Oh, I took a few pics along the way.

Enjoy!
