Friday’s Confession … I missed my first week of marathon training – GASP!

It wasn’t intentional – I actually have been anxiously awaiting week 1 - but I didn’t check my running group’s message boards and, yup, I totally missed it.

I’m so sorry, I was a little busy bikini shopping and turning 40, ahem, but I did manage to squeeze out two 4 mile runs and one day of strength training – fortunately, training starts off slow.

I’m so excited to get back on schedule and run with my Get Fit Atlanta peeps tomorrow morning. Thankfully, I’ve got a good 20+ weeks to redeem myself.

Tell me I’m not alone … ever miss a week of training?

  1. You are not alone. I didn't miss a full week in training for my first but Christmas (along with upstate NY winter weather) had me missing long runs outside as I didn't want frostbite or to get ill. I had weeks that were suppose to be in the mid to high 40 miles and ended up barely touching 30.

  2. It happens to the best of us! All that matters is that you ran!

  3. I've actually missed years of training! LOL!

  4. Technically, I missed one of the first weeks of marathon training in January when we went to Antigua. I'm sure you'll redeem yourself next week. ;)

  5. Thanks, Y'all! I'm on it from here on out – smiles!

  6. Just found you through Fitbloggin' site. LOVE this blog! Looking forward to meeting you.

p.s. I thought about trying to get into a bikini, but I'm not brave enough. You look amazing!
