I’m excited about my upcoming race schedule. The Fall is one of my FAVORITE times to run. There are several races that are becoming staples on my schedule and I’m adding one that has me beaming and doing back flips.
Here’s what it’s looking like:
Black Girls Run! Drive to End Hunger 10K in Atlanta, September 16
Atlanta Marathon Relay, October 28
Savannah Rock ‘n’ Roll Half Marathon, November 3
Atlanta Half Marathon, Thanksgiving Day
Reggae Half Marathon in Negril, Jamaica, December 1
That’s right, Renee and I are pulling out our passports and heading to Jamaica to end the calendar year running along the crystal blue Caribbean water. Both Renee and I have had our eyes on this race since we started running a few years ago. After having a blast last year running in Miami, we decided to go for it and make Jamaica our last fun run for 2012.
We’re still in the planning stages of our trip, but we’re thrilled to know we’ll be staying at the BEAUTIFUL Beaches Negril Resort & Spa.
Yes, I was motivated to step up my training before adding Jamaica to my calendar, but now … It’s. About. To. Go. Down.
Knowing I’ll be lounging in a bikini on the beach in a few months; and watching the track and field stars sprint their way to Olympic Gold sporting ridiculously cut 8-packs has motivated me to complete my mission to find my hidden abs. Gasp! I’ll be sharing more about my new fitness challenge in another post, but I will say I’m going HARD CORE. Oh … and Husband is in on this one.
Winks & Smiles,
Disclosure: I’m receiving a media rate for my hotel and other accommodations for review purposes. As always, my thoughts and opinions are all my own.

I was in Negril last year for the race…The whole town comes alive with excitement. Negril is my favorite spot on earth!!

Oh wow, that’s great to hear! I love Negril, too! I’ve been a few times but never for the race. Looking forward to the fun.

And with just over 100 days to go, time to get training seriously. Nice post. Looking forward to following you as prepare for Reggae Marathon 2012. Let’s plan to connect at the Pasta Party Friday evening Nov. 30.
