Running — 06 August 2012

I’m excited that I’ve pushed through my running rut and I’m getting back into training mode. I’m finishing up my race schedule for the end of the year and will share that soon. Let’s just say I see crystal blue waters and running along the beach in my near future – GASP! Oh, and I’m pretty close to committing to marathon #3 in early 2013. Fun!

Here are my training plans for this week starting Monday, August 6:

Monday: 4 miles with hills
Tuesday: 8 miles long run with my sister; and Ab work (due to our schedules and our kids, this is the only day to get the long run in)
Wednesday: Full body strength training
Thursday: 4 miles, speed work
Friday: 4 miles; and full body strength training
Saturday: Tennis match with my subdivision’s Ladies Intraclub team

Hello, Hills! I happy to say I powered through this morning – I ran most of the way and walked some (if I walk up part of a hill I like to do long deep strides, almost lunges to really make it count) and I can still feel my legs.

  1. My hill workout is mainly on my bike. i have a route with two that I am practically at a standstill at the end.

    • Hills are no joke! And, I watch in awe the bikers in my neighborhood tackle the big ones. Kudos to you Jamie! ;)
