Running — 09 January 2012

After a wonderful run (pun intended) I’m saying goodbye to these …

I got these shoes at Fitbloggin’ last May and they carried me through many runs including my second marathon and a couple of half marathons, too. They have more than run their course (another really bad pun) and are officially retired from the running circuit, but not from wardrobe. They’re surprisingly still in great shape and are so cute that I plan on cleaning them and wearing them from time to time.

I love these shoes so much I decided to look online for another pair. New Balance had them on clearance for 79.99, but I found them yesterday in the New Balance store for $69.99. SCORE!

Aren’t they pretty? Power Pink! I just need to get them some fun new laces and a little bling.

I cross-trained this morning so I haven’t broken them in yet, but I’m looking forward to my first run with them tomorrow.

Enjoy this Monday, Everyone!  Be productive, and make sure to do something special to take care of you!

  1. Cute shoes!! I love that you dress them up. :)

I go through shoes so fast (2-3 months) that I don’t bother… and the shoes that my feet like best are sadly not very pretty. :( So, I usually keep a cleanish pair for walking and whatnot, but we just donated the rest!

  2. Awesome shoes! Happy running!!

  6. Wifey- I think that this is a GORGEOUS picture of you! You look absolutely amazing and I never would have noticed that you were not wearing makeup or didn’t do your hair. Check out G’s last two posts over at Neurosis of the Stay at Home Marathoner of 3 (Kids). I think you embrace the beautiful challenge perfectly in this picture and all pictures you have posted!

  7. I love how new gym shoes make you feel like you can run faster, jump higher, and leap buildings in a single bound. :) )
