When I put together today’s photo food journal I quickly realized something is missing – greens!
Looking at what I’m eating is not only helping me eliminate mindless snacking; but it’s also bringing to my attention the things I need to add or delete from my diet. I normally make sure that I eat something green every day – spinach salad, broccoli and green beans are my top picks. Apparently, I missed them today.
Today’s Eats …
Organic buckwheat pancakes w/chocolate protein powder
Kashi Go Lean Crunch w/almond milk and bananas – and Minnie Mouse
Shrimp tacos w/organic salsa, Mexican blend cheese & fresh jalapeños -yes, they’re green but they don’t count
Apples w/natural peanut butter
I’ll probably end the night with a small snack. Maybe a bowl of berries or a Chobani Greek Yogurt. I had a great run today – four miles in my hilly neighborhood plus ab work – so I’m still a little hungry.
Oh, Milan and I made some homemade almond cookie bars today, except they’re actually not cookies. They’re sort of like Larabars. They’re made with almonds, dates, a little salt and vanilla. And, I added in some dark chocolate for a treat. I haven’t tried them yet, but something tells me they’ll make tomorrow’s photo.
