Food Weight loss — 10 September 2012

Happy Monday!

Last week was a good week for me with food. I did well with sticking to my goals - drinking more water, eating more salads and avoiding starchy carbs after 6 p.m. I lost 4 pounds on my weigh-in last Wednesday and I can already feel a difference in my body. Yes, I had some splurges, but I feel like they aren’t happening as often as they used to. Ahem.

Here are the highlights of my food last week. Notice all of the green!

Last Week’s Eats:

Food Faves:
The salads win this week – shrimp, steak, salmon, chicken. I’ve been putting a little lite Feta and a lite raspberry vinaigrette on my salads and I can’t get enough! Oh, we went out on Saturday night and the spicy walnut salad at Kozmo Gastro Pub gets a huge thumbs up!

Food Fails:
Speaking of going out, Ahem, my biggest food fail would have to be the fried calamari at Kozmo’s (I didn’t get a picture of it – it went too fast!). But YUM! And, probably the wine and beer that went along with it. I shouldn’t really call it a fail because I knew I would indulge that night – I like a planned splurge because it keeps me from feeling like I’m depriving myself. Balance, people. It’s all about balance.

This Week’s Goals:
Drink more water; eat more salads, no starchy carbs after 6 p.m., and create a new recipe.

I can eat the same thing all the time if I like it, but my family gets a little bored. I’m so excited that Husband has started doing CrossFit and is eating mostly clean like I am; that will help me get more creative in the kitchen.

As always, if there’s anything you see in the picture that you’d like details on just let me know.

Winks & Smiles,

  1. Everything looks healthy and delicious! I started taking pics of last night’s dinner. Let’s see if I remember enough times to make a collage for next week :)
