I had an exciting and eventful day – those of you who follow my shenanigans happenings on Facebook or Twitter probably already know that I had a lucky afternoon.

First things first, Day 2 of my latest challenge had me running three miles this morning then getting my Ripped on with Jillian immediately after. Her ab work is the most challenging for me. For someone who really wants a six-pack I’ve done a great job of neglecting those muscles, but I’m on it now. Ahem.

OK, so I was invited a few weeks ago to attend the Pop Cap Luncheon hosted by Laura Jackson from Pop Cap Games ; and Renee Ross. My kids were thrilled when I got the invite because the wonderful folks at Pop Cap sent us some of their video games to try out. Of course Miles and Milan were already up on Bejeweled, Peggle and Plants vs. Zombies (a few of their most popular games) and schooled me on all of them.

Today’s lunch was at Mary Mac’s Tea Room in Atlanta – an ATL classic spot for southern cuisine.

Our menu. A few days ago I would have splurged on some of this, but not on Day 2 of my challenge. I stayed strong and had a glass of lemon water even though it all looked delicious.

I enjoyed chatting with Laura from Pop Cap and learning more about their games – I didn’t know that Peggle and Bookworm Adventures were awarded a Seal of Approval from the National Parenting Center. Pretty cool.  And, I always enjoying seeing so many of Georgia’s Social Media Moms – we have such a strong and supportive community!

After lunch, Laura casually told us that she brought an iPad 2 to giveaway. Fun! We all got one entry for her to randomly pick our name, and she had a fun video game quiz where we could earn extra entries. I don’t have a tablet of any kind and was truly hopping to score this one.

When I put my name on top of the quiz I wrote “The Winner” on it.  How about that for the power of positive thinking – this was written BEFORE I even played the game. I didn’t win the quiz, but I did win the iPad 2!

Do I look a little excited? I was THRILLED when she called my name and I couldn’t help but show it.

I appreciate Laura, and everyone at Pop Cap Games, and Renee for hosting such a fun luncheon. And, of course I thank them all for my brand new baby iPad 2. Now, I’m off to go figure out how to use it!

Winks & Smiles,

Disclosure: I was invited to attend the luncheon and received free downloads of several Pop Cap games. I randomly won the iPad 2. As always, my thoughts and opinions are all my own.
