Reviews Running — 14 October 2011

Ahh, its Friday. It was a slow one for me this morning. I’ve been going non-stop for the past week and I think the traveling, hectic schedule and maybe the 26.2 miles I ran on Sunday is catching up with me.

Since I’ve been back from Chicago I haven’t had a moment to stop and relax. My schedule has been full, too full, and I think it’s time for me to reassess my priorities and stop overbooking my calendar. GASP! Yes, I hate to say it but I bring a lot of this on myself. It’s challenging to create balance with the kids’ schedule, Husband’s and mine; but I know I’m over extended when I don’t have time to go to the grocery store and there’s nothing to eat in the house – nothing. My family is super supportive of me and all of my adventures, until there’s no food – gasp! They definitely draw the line there.

One of the events that I’m glad I didn’t miss this week was Disney On Ice presents Dare to Dream at Philips Arena. I was invited to a meet and great on opening night and was excited to take my daughter, Milan, and our cousins Nancy and Madison, to see the show. As many of you know, I like to channel my inner princess often – even when I run.

The meet and great was big fun for the kids. Milan and Madison hanging out with Rapunzel and Flynn.

They made their own little princess tiaras.

And, rocked them during the show!

We had a blast watching Tiana, Cinderella and Rapunzel’s stories come alive on skates. The show is in Atlanta through Sunday and is touring nationwide through March 2012. You can read a more detailed review at my post; Disney On Ice’s Dare to Dream at TravelingMom.com.

Today’s Workout
Rest. I’m listening to my body so I can get back on the run and start my new strength training program.

Wine
I had dinner at one of my favorite restaurants last night, Seasons 52 and found myself sipping on one of my favorite reds, a lovely pinot noir.

Enjoy the day …  and make sure to do something to take care of you!

Winks & Smiles,

Disclosure: I received media tickets to review the show; as always my thoughts, opinions and my tiara are all my own.

  1. You always seem to be on the go and with a full plate. Glad you are paying attention to it and figuring out how best to make it work!

    Enjoy some rest this weekend!

    • Thanks, Marlene! I appreciate you. Smiles!

  2. I can so relate to overbooking myself. I did that about two weeks ago and made the decision to use my favorite word, NO! I had to say no or I would have dragged myself to the ground which I came close. Good for you to have recognized it and filled the house with food again, LOL!! Looks like the girls had a blast :-)
