Family Life Running — 25 June 2012

There’s no video for this week’s Quote of the Week since I’m on the go – I’m writing this on the plane to Las Vegas. I’m speaking at a food conference tomorrow (I’ll share more about that later), but I made sure to tape this week’s message to the kids’ bathroom mirror before I left.

I won’t bore you with the many reasons why they need this one. Their ages – 11 and 9 – should spell it out pretty clearly.

It’s a great reminder for us adults, too. How many times do we just do something before we actually give it some thought? I’m not suggesting to do the opposite and over think things to the point where you don’t make any progress, but I am encouraging my kids (and the rest of us, too) to think about the consequences of their actions before they take any.

On the running front, there was none for me today, except through the airport. Ahem. I’m getting excited for my next race, The AJC Peachtree Road Race, the largest 10K in the country held annually on the 4th of July. Zooma Atlanta was my last race and I’m going through withdrawals. I’m not sure if I’ll get to run in Las Vegas, I’m coming back to Atlanta tomorrow, but I’m definitely planning on logging some miles Wednesday morning.

In the meantime, I lost my Suburban Swim Mom Virginity over at Ask Wifey and I’m sharing some tips for other Swim Mom Virgins.

Say, what?

Come on by and see …
