Life Running — 15 July 2011

I’m THRILLED to share that Race & Relax is back … and this time we’re taking all the fun on the road.

This is the third installment of our Get Moving! series – the first time we got together in Atlanta to run the Virginia Highlands Summerfest 5K; then a small group of us went to Walt Disney World Resort to rock our tiaras in the Princess Half Marathon (thanks Walt Disney World Resort!); and now we’re hitting the road and headed to beautiful Savannah, Georgia, to take part in the Rock ‘n’ Roll Half Marathon Series.

Race & Relax On The Road is a social media escape that will bring together 20-25 women for a weekend of running, learning, networking and of course, relaxing. The first Race & Relax on The Road will take place November 4-5, 2011, where participants will run in the Rock ‘n’ Roll Savannah Half Marathon. In addition to the race weekend, the ladies will support each other via Twitter, blogs, Facebook, dailymile and other social media outlets leading up to the event.

Lisa was all smiles finishing her first 5K last year!

Spoil Yourself One Step at a Time
Race and Relax is perfect for newbies or experienced runners because there’s so much fun and encouragement! Participants will receive a four month training plan courtesy of RRCA certified running coach and blogger extraordinaire T from RacingWithBabes.blogspot.com; nutrition suggestions; and ongoing support leading up to and at the event. During the race weekend you’’ll enjoy a pre-race dinner in Savannah, a post race celebration with surprise goodies; and of course the coveted swag bag. My good buddies, Heather from RunFasterMommy.com and Renee from CutieBootyCakes.blogspot will be joining me this time around and I hope you will, too.

Registration opens this Monday July 18, providing FOUR months of training and support leading up to the event. Early bird registrations are $50 through the end of July. Rock ‘n’ Roll race registrations should be purchased separately.

Wait, did I mention we have awesome sponsors? I’m thrilled that the Wine Sisterhood is returning as a gold sponsor to help us all RELAX. Ahem. The American Cancer Society DetermiNation Program is our official charity sponsor – I’m on their Blogger Advisory Council and I’m running with them for the Chicago Marathon so I’m so appreciative of their support for this event. I’m also thrilled that Attune Foods is a supporting sponsor – I just love their mint chocolate probiotic bars – hint, hint! I’m in the process of securing other sponsors; if you’re interested in supporting these lovely ladies as they Get Moving and take care of themselves you can email me at info@askwifey.com.

I’ll be posting the registration link on Monday so make sure to look out for that. Space is limited and goes quickly – be sure to act fast. Looking forward to Race & Relaxing with you …

Winks & Smiles,
