Running Weight loss — 04 October 2011

I had an AWESOME run this morning along the river. I felt fresh, strong and wanted to keep going. I pray I feel that way on Sunday morning when I lace up my kicks for the Chicago Marathon. Maybe there is something to this whole taper madness.

I had to stop myself from going further!

The view of the river relaxes my mind. I forget I have a million things to do when I’m out there running. Yikes!

It’s a good thing I’m on a runners high since I just added two more races to this year’s calendar. Gulp! Later this month I’m doing my first relay – the Atlanta Marathon Relay on the 30th. I’m so excited because my sister, Nicole, my girlfriend, Melanie, and possibly my Aunt Kristi will be joining me. It’s Melanie’s first race - there’s something so special about that first one. I can’t wait to see her face when she’s done.

A week later is my Race & Relax on the Road event at the Rock ’n’ Roll Savannah Half Marathon. We’ve got such a great group of ladies running; and some fun events planned. After that I’m thinking about running the Atlanta Half Marathon on Thanksgiving morning, I haven’t signed up yet, but I’m tempted.

I did sign up for this one yesterday …

Renee Ross from Cutiebootycakes.blogspot.com convinced me that South Beach is the place to be in December and that we NEED to put this on our calendars. Hello! She had me at beach. Registering for this race has me even more motivated to find my missing abs and move from good to great. I foresee a new bikini in my future – gasp!

So, that’s 1 full marathon, 1 relay,  and 2 half marathons (possibly 3) over the next 3 months; and I’m excited for them all! While I’m definitely going to enjoy the moment I’m already thinking about next year’s race calendar. How far in advance do you plan your race schedule? I’d love to know.

Today’s Workout
A wonderful 4 mile run.

Last Night’s Wine
One glass of Yellow Tail Pinot Noir.

Enjoy your day …

Winks & Smiles,

  1. GO WIFEY GOOOO!!! I’m so excited (and jealous!) of all your awesome races coming up, especially the marathon. Can’t wait to hear all about it! :) and hopefully next year we will run together again! I have a 5k coming up soon and then hopefully something longer after that. Just getting back into it all—yay!

    • I miss you! We must run together again next year! We have WAY too much fun – smiles! Good luck on your 5K! ;)

  2. Sounds like a great race schedule! You are gonna be one busy lady!

I tend to plan fairly far in advance – gotta admit I’m already looking at next year :)

    Good luck in Chicago!!

    • Thanks, Michelle! I feel a little crazy but excited! Glad to know I’m not the only one thinking about next year. Smiles!

  3. Love that you are adding more races in the final DAYS before Chicago. Something I would do. :) Can’t blame you, because those look FUN!

    • Am I crazy for that?! LOL! Yes, I think my line up is fun and will keep me in great shape going into the holidays – smiles!

  4. I love that Renee. Smart lady. You two are going to have a blast.

I have been known to plan my races a year in advance. Sometimes it gets you the best deals. And then there are races, like Princess, that I wouldn’t want to miss.

    • Speaking of smart ladies – smart of you to plan so far out! I’m trying to get better at it! And, ahh the Princess. Such great memories! ;)
