Running Travel — 03 November 2011

I cannot believe that it’s already November and I’m getting ready to head to Savannah in the morning for my Race and Relax on the Road event and the Rock ‘n’ Roll Savannah Half Marathon.

I love doing races – the excitement of the event is thrilling – but this one is extra special because I’ll be cheering on and celebrating with 18 other women who are participating in Race & Relax. We’re kicking the weekend off at the Expo with a special meet and greet from our charity sponsor, the American Cancer Society DetermiNation Program (ASC). They have some special surprises for the ladies. I can’t wait to share details later! We’ll enjoy a pre-race dinner at the Chart House in historic Savannah then come back together after the race for a fun celebration lunch at the Pirate House. We’ve been bonding and supporting each other on Facebook and Twitter so it will be wonderful to see everyone in person.

I’d be remiss if I don’t send a big shout out to our wonderful sponsor for supporting women on the run and helping to make Race & Relax happen – ASC, The Wine Sisterhood, Degree Women, Attune Foods, SPIbelt and a host of others that will surprise the ladies with some wonderful swag.

I’m off to run errands and get myself ready for my road trip in the morning. Coincidentally, ahem, I put a post up today on TravelingMom.com titled Girlfriend Getaways: 3 Tips to Stay Sane & Friends. I’m also dishing about the bomb breakfast I had at FOKlife.com. Simple and delicious.

If you’re going to be in Savannah this weekend please holla at me! I’d love to say hello …

Winks & Smiles,
