Life Running — 14 July 2011

I’m having an awesome time escaping from reality relaxing and celebrating my Aunt Kristi’s 50th birthday with her, my sister, Nicole, and her friend Jennifer at the Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort on Hilton Head Island. My Uncle Ron surprised Kristi for her birthday with a tennis trip for four – thanks Uncle, so glad I play tennis, too! – so we’ve been on the courts twice already since arriving yesterday.

This morning I got up around 7ish to get a good run in before our tennis lesson – and before the heat set in. It’s like a sauna here. Seriously.

We’re appropriately staying at the Center Court Villas. Ahem.

I did a short 3 mile run through the resort. The path has gorgeous views like this sunrise shot.

They have more than 90 miles of trails – yikes! No ultra running for me, but you can if you want to. Smiles!

I would play golf, though. Maybe next trip. Oh, yes, there will be a next trip.

I always love to run into Disney - there’s magic everywhere! And, yes, I just happen to be wearing my Princess Half Marathon shirt.

I couldn’t resist the beer shot. Ahem.

On to the courts. Our instructor, Rob, perfecting my imperfect serve.

The gals ready for action!

I’m off to enjoy the sun and sand; and unwind a little before hitting the courts again. Looking forward to running on the beach tomorrow.

Winks & Smiles,
