I did it. I took that step forward. You know that incredibly-difficult step-that-you-know-you-need-to-take-but-for-some-reason-have-found-yourself-in-a-ridiculous-rut-and-for-various-reasons-don’t-seem-to-push-past-it? Yup, that step.
Yesterday I stepped forward and started my spring strength training to get back on track with Atlanta Fitness Diva. And, it felt AMAZING.
My training has been sporadic for the past few months and so have my results. I’m heavier than I’d like to be and I’ve been watching my fitness level slowly decline.
Fluctuations happen, but I can’t let it get out of hand. My health – physical and mental – is my number one reason to get back in the gym. At 42, I’ve got to MAKE the time to take care of my body and my mind.
My second motivation is to look good. Yup, springtime is coming and so are cute springtime clothes. Now that I’m learning how to create fabulous fashions (I’ve been bitten by the sewing bug) I want to have the body to rock them, too. Ahem.
So, I decided to go back to Atlanta Fitness Diva where I know I’ll get results. I had a blast working out there leading up to my Jamaica trip in 2012; and yesterday was just as fun – and as challenging – as I remembered.
It was GREAT to see Pamela Molinari-Turnage, Atlanta Fitness Diva’s founder and lead trainer. Don’t let her pretty face fool you, she is one tough cookie! That’s one of the things I love about Atlanta Fitness Diva, the workouts are super challenging, but also fun. You get lots of encouragement and smiles with each
Go big or go home. I love doing the ropes.
In true diva fashion, there’s fun signs and sayings all around the gym.
If you’re in the Atlanta metro area Atlanta Fitness Diva is having a spring special for new clients. You get a free evaluation with an expert female trainer and 50% off your first package of 10-20 small group sessions.
The gym is located near Perimeter and has a nice offering of class times to accommodate various schedules. You can find out more details at, AtlantaFitnessDiva.com.
Today is a rest day for me, but I’ll be hitting it hard tomorrow and Friday. I’m planning on going to Atlanta Fitness Diva three days a week moving forward; to compliment my running of course.
Now that the hardest part is over (taking that first step) I’m motivated and ready for this next part of my fitness journey. I think a new goal or fitness challenge is in order. I’m going to have a chat with Pamela before my next session to see what we can cook up.
Winks & Smiles,
Disclosure: I’m partnering with Atlanta Fitness Diva in efforts to help promote fitness for women; and the AFD facility. My training is provided by AFD. As always my thoughts, opinions – and in this case sweat, hard work, and determination – are all my own.
