Food Weight loss — 02 August 2011

I’m excited about reviving my “Project Me” Abs goal and I’m trying to ride the momentum, motivation and fun of starting something new. With that said I’m turning into a food snob. GASP! Yup, you might have seen me chowing down on pizza last week or inhaling some chips and salsa, but today I would turn my nose up at the thought of it. No, I’m not a hypocrite. I’m just selective. Ahem.

Anyway, I spent the day on the tennis courts and at the pool with the kids. I’ve got to do a better job of bringing my food when I go out because I get hungry fast now and I want to make sure I’m making good choices. If my inner food snob is slipping I take a second to THINK before I eat. I think about my goals. I think about how I’ll feel AFTER I eat something I shouldn’t. I also think about what I’ll look and feel like once I’ve reached my goal. Taking that short time to go over those things in my head usually helps me make the right decision.  Acting mindlessly normally leads me into trouble. Big trouble.

Today’s workout: Tennis. An hour lesson. Oh, and some time on the court and in the pool with the kids. Here’s a few pics from my day.

Tennis and running. My two FAVORITE activities!

It was HOT out there today. Somewhere in the mid 90′s. GASP!

My baby girl and my father. Whenever I see photos of them like this I have flashbacks. She looks like ME in this picture.

My Miles before he got on the court. I’m so not ready for him to look this old. Um, where’s my baby?

After tennis we jumped in the pool. Some of us literally.

A favorite summertime snack. It was so sweet I didn’t have to THINK about anything else.

  1. This is great advice. I am diligently tracking what I eat again and try to enter it (on myfitnesspal.com) BEFORE I eat it. This forces me to think before eating and keeps me accountable/aware!

    • Thanks, Marlene! I need to try a food app. I bet it would be helpful!
