Family Life Reviews Travel — 23 October 2012

It’s travel Tuesday so I want to share some pictures from our weekend in Philadelphia. We had an awesome time and it all started at the hotel. We had connecting rooms at The Omni at Independence Park. It was perfect because there was five of us – three generations – so we had plenty of space and privacy when we wanted it.

The kids loved the milk and cookies! At night, they send them up free for kids if you call to request them.

The hotel’s location was perfect for us. It was 10 minutes from the Philadelphia International airport and 20 minutes from Husband’s hometown in New Jersey and we could walk to South Street and all the historic sites we wanted to visit. Miles has always wanted to see the Liberty Bell so that was one of our first stops.

We also had fun in Jersey and drove past my old house in Cherry Hill. I started elementary school there before moving to Colorado. Husband and I lived 15 minutes from each other but didn’t meet until almost 20 years later in Atlanta.

On Sunday before we left we walked to Penns Landing to see the ships. We went inside the USS Olympia and a submarine. The kids loved it.

Me channeling my favorite “Titanic” moment.

We had such gorgeous weather all weekend. Before heading to the airport we strolled to South Street.

This picture pretty much sums up the fun we had on the trip.

Winks & Smiles,

Disclosure: I received a media rate from the Omni. As always, my thoughts, opinions – and fun – are all my own.
