Ask Wifey Events Food Life Running Travel — 26 February 2013

On Saturday I’m headed to Napa for the Wine Sisterhood’s Second Annual Gathering and the Napa Valley Marathon. To say I’m excited would be an understatement. I’ve been doing back flips in my living room all morning. Not really, I can’t do back flips, but if I could I would and there would be lots of video. Ahem.

Here are five things I’m looking forward to while in Napa:

The Scenery. When I was in Napa last year for the first Gathering I thought it would be the perfect place to do a race. I didn’t quite imagine that I would pick such a long race, but I’m glad it will be 26.2 miles with a GORGEOUS view.

My #WineSisters. One of the best things about the Gathering is the dynamic, intelligent and fun women I get to clink glasses with. Excited to see the lovely Aliza Sherman, Danielle Smith, Carol Cain, Chelsea Duran, the fabulous trio behind the Wine Sisterhood, and I’m looking forward to meeting new folks, too.

The Food. Every place we visited last year was PHENOMENAL. No, really … I don’t think I took one bite of mediocre food for four days. And, after running 26.2 miles I’m going to want to eat.

Something New. Whether its learning about food and wine pairings or the best new food apps for your phone, the workshops at the Gathering are informative and fun. Seriously, where else do you get to sip and swirl in sessions?

The Wine. Duh. I’m going to Napa. I don’t think I need to say more.

As always, I’ll be Instagraming, tweeting, and Facebooking my travels so I can bring you along for the fun. You can also follow along in real time by following the Wine Sisterhood on Facebook and the #winesister hashtag on Twitter.

Winks & Smiles,

Disclosure: My travel and accommodations for the Gathering are provided by Wine Sisterhood. As always, my thoughts and opinions are all my own.
