I Have Swimsuit Confidence: Taking on a Tankini

Before I started working on my birthday goal I would have NEVER dreamed of posting a picture of me in a bathing suit online. NEVER. But since I’ve made my health a priority, not only did I rock a bikini on my birthday, but now I’m sporting this super cute tankini from the wonderful folks at Land’s End.

As soon as I heard about National Swimsuit Confidence week I knew I wanted to take part. I fully support celebrating women of all shapes and sizes being comfortable with their bodies and getting active in their swimsuits! Looking good and feeling good are often tied-together. Swimsuit confidence has been a struggle for me most of my life and as I get older, ahem, I’m realizing that taking care of my body leads to better health, better looks and most certainly more confidence.

This week, May 23 – 27, 2011 from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. CDST you can join in the series of National Swimsuit Confidence Week events on Twitter. Follow @LandsEndPR and tweet at #landsend. They will be announcing exclusive swimwear promotions, giving away great prizes and inspiring women to embrace their swimsuit beauty.

You look fabulous! I love this idea of swimisuit confidence! We’re on vacation and I decided to rock my suit with no regrets but total confidence!! Thanks for sharing and happy belated birthday!

You do look great. I also have to say that as a much much much larger gal , I love Land’s End Swimwear. At 200+, I am not willing to say the real number, I really felt confident in what I bought from them this spring. Mine is a tankini with a skirt combo that looks a lot like a tennis outfit. Big girls especially need to get in the pool and burn some calories and wearing a swimsuit is the #1 reason why not to do it. I also love that you can search by cup size on the tops, my sister an I got the Johnson family “jewels” and we need more support up there.
By the way, you do rock the bikini your twitter pic.

  Thanks, Nora! I agree. I love the suit because it’s true to size. So many times in bathing suits I order a 14 and it’s really a 10 – gasp! I didn’t get the family “jewels” but my kids made me need underwire and I LOVE that Land’s End has suits with great support!

Girl, I’m wishing I HAD swimsuit confidence. Not yet, but Marci and I are planning a Caribbean vacation and so a tankini or bikini would be the plan! I just gotta make it happen! BTW, you look like a super model in that pic! Just love it. I’m inspired!
