Fitness Running Weight loss — 29 August 2012

Gasp! That was my scale yesterday. How in the hell did that happen?

Here are my new weight loss goals, deadline December 1 (approximately 3 months until the Reggae Half Marathon in Jamaica):

  • Lose 22 pounds. That will put me at 160. A number I haven’t seen in years.

I have running endurance but lack strength and muscle definition. It takes time to sculpt a fabulous body but I should see significant changes by then. Project #DoBetter is in full effect. Boom!

  1. GOOD LUCK! :) I have 14.2 pounds left to reach my goal of 140 so I’ve set my mind to lose 1 pound per week for the remainder of the year. I do NOT want anything weight-related needing to be working into my resolutions for 2013! lol I started boot camp with the Body Firm of Atlanta back in April and have gained strength, muscle definition, running endurance, and SO many more benefits. Each week, we have a weights day, a total-body day, an abs day, and a legs day. If you’re anywhere close to any of their locations I would recommend you check them out — it’s 1 hour per day, 4 days per week. I finish my 18th week tomorrow and I’ve lost a total of 17.6 pounds but have replaced SO much fat with muscle. Anyway, I’ll stop rambling! ;) I can’t wait to see your progress, although I can’t imagine where in the world you could stand to lose 22 pounds! You already look fabulous.

    • Thanks, Kat! Congrats on all you’ve done! Wow! How inspiring – smiles! I probably have more than 22 pounds of fat to lose, but I know muscle is going to add some to the numbers and I’m good with that. Clothes hide it but my muffin top is not sexy. LOL! I really need to add muscle and tone. ;)

  2. You’re so brave! On the rare occasion that I step on the scale, I make absolutely certain that no one is even on the same side of the house that I am, in the fear that someone will see that little number. lol Your weight is sure to come off as you train for your run in Jamaica, and we will be here to support you all the way! Good luck!

    • Thanks, Autumn! I don’t like the scale, but I figured I’d let it motivate me. ;)
