I love finding people and places that align with my thoughts and goals. The first time I stepped into Atlanta Fitness Diva, I knew I’d come back and want to train there. That’s big for me because I don’t like going to gyms, but this isn’t just any gym. It’s small, personalized and just for women, but don’t let the pink dumbbells fool you. There’s nothing soft about this place except for the fun decor and fluffy towels in the shower room.
I had the pleasure (and pain – ahem) of working out with Pamela, the owner of Atlanta Fitness Diva, in the spring but my schedule didn’t want to cooperate with my body. Yesterday I found myself lunging, crunching, pressing, and doing a whole lot more than I thought I was capable of at Pamela’s command. She has the sweetest smile while she instructs you to do another set or add more weight so you can feel the burn. She’s knows her craft and how to build that body all of us deserve, that’s why I asked her to help me find my missing abs and slip back into that bikini for my trip to Jamaica.
Combining strength training with my running and healthy eating is key to me achieving my fitness goals. Pamela says if I listen to her she can help me get that body I’ve been wanting for a long time – and I believe her! I’m looking forward to training 3-4 times a week in one of her small group sessions; and enjoying the results. In addition to looking and feeling better I know adding strength will improve my running speed and endurance. And, my wardrobe, too. Ahem.
This is my “after workout” picture from yesterday. I was tired as hell, but so proud of myself. I’ve been instructed to take “before” pictures – front & side – which I’ll do today. We’ll see if I’m feeling courageous enough to post it. Yikes! I’m also going to decide on some specific goals so that I have clear targets and deadlines to stay on task. I’ll make sure to posts those, too.
Winks & Smiles,
Disclosure: I’m partnering with Atlanta Fitness Diva in efforts to help promote fitness for women; and the AFD facility. My training is provided by AFD. As always my thoughts, opinions – and in this case sweat, hard work, and determination – are all my own.
